Linger Pleasantly

What's in a name?

"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet"  from William Shakespeare sums most of my blog dilemma.  I've been chasing writing goals for so long that I don't know where I fit anymore. My heart yearns to write the overflow and share the pieces of my heart throughout our days.  I deeply feel the brokenness  and wholeheartedly believe in the beautiful that comes forth from the trials.  My soul craves the slow and quiet in a loud and busy world.  I need to lay this to rest in the presence of the Father and trust that the more time I spend with Him, I will grow closer and glorify Him.

Then I remembered a favorite homeschooling quote:

Let him linger pleasantly over the history of a single man, a short period, until he thinks the thoughts of that man. - Charlotte Mason

A beautiful light shone on those words, linger pleasantly.  Truly this is our life calling - the sanctification.  We are to linger pleasantly over the history of God - the Bible - His Words fill us, until we think the thoughts of Him, accept the gift of His Son, and allow the Spirit to fill and fulfill our souls.

Upon a little further digging, I cam across a beautiful article about Lingering in His Presence.  It was very encouraging to read the words that I needed to hear for this journey.

Father, I pray, please teach me to linger pleasantly in Your presence. ~amen
