Hello October

Hello October!

I'm kindred to Anne's love for this month and I can't help but deeply hope that the lingering darkness of grief will be brightened with the beautiful colors of Fall.  I dream of rainy days and crisp cool evenings, quiet and slow moments, and the scents of baking in the oven.

It's a true wonder that I accomplished anything on my September list, but at least seeing it here shows that some things did get done.

Update on September:

-:- help with Baby A's funeral service
-:- be available to grieving daughter
-:- replace water heater
-:- switch cell phone carrier -ours is showing "no service" far too often
-:- re-start homeschool
-:- send out thank you cards for all the help we've received
-:- decorate for Autumn
-:- create Daily Rhythm cards for school
-:- make healthier eating choices but honestly I haven't been all that hungry lately
-:- find beautiful rest again - feels a little lost right now
-:- buy a car for Daughter M
-:- apple picking
-:- have a canning day! - bought needed supplies, but just haven't had the time as of yet.

With thoughts of pumpkins, apple picking, hay rides and more....

 October plans:

carried over from September:
-:- decorate for autumn
-:- find beautiful rest again - still missing those slower days
-:- have a canning day

and new things:
-:- visit pumpkin patch
-:- enjoy our annual tradition with Anne of Green Gables - usually done on the 1st day of Autumn but I purposely postponed with all the heartache and funerals.
-:- find apple cider doughnuts or make some
-:- have a campfire and s'mores!
-:- start planning for holidays
-:- picnic at the zoo
