January Rhythms

The winter is warmer than usual among the barren branches.  I have to admit that the days of sunshine have been nice, but I miss the colder winter days.    I'm waiting for the cold to stay awhile so I can bring out the cozy blankets, and have the fireplace burning from morning 'til bed.  I wait for the first snow to fall in the new year and dream of cozy days to come.  Winter warms my heart with days laced with slow, fuzzy socks, and layers of clothing.

Our calendar is fairly empty thus far with the pandemic,  and the blank squares offer much comfort after so much busy of holidays.    It was a much quieter past year and I truly loved the slower pace and less obligations.   January rolls around and I usually start the new year exhausted.  I hope to use my goals/plans to help me again this year and hopefully do a little better at accomplishing the things that mean the most.

January plans:

-:- reading my Bible through the year  - taking notes throughout.
-:- create/embrace "cozy" times - family game night or weekly dessert time
-:- do a puzzle
-:- find a creative way to have a date with dear husband (quarantine has made this hard)
-:- crochet - start a cozy "temperature" blanket
-:- find our homeschool rhythm again
-:- fill 2 boxes to give to thrift store / declutter closet
-:- healthier eating & sleep habits (go to bed earlier and get up a little earlier)
-:- help husband with painting interior as I can
