Goodbye Winter 2022

My bucket list for most of Winter was pretty much a flop.  We ended the Christmas holidays full of cheer as we finally gathered together and celebrated the gift.  It felt good to have family gathered.

But of course, we then finally succumbed to "the virus".  That one virus that had lingered around, declared a world wide pandemic, and nearly stripped the life out of dear little one in our family.  The timing was hard.  We missed our daughter's wedding (bless technology and live streaming - never thought I'd be thrilled with such modern advancement).  We started the New Year with aches, pains and fevers, and had two emergency room visits.

January and February were recovery months.  The exhaustion was heavy on the soul of a homemaker.  The piles grew, the days on the calendar turned quickly, and most of winter was celebrated with much  rest, blankets, and prayer.  Learning is life.

behold the grace

of rest.  of recovery.  of life.

March brings in Spring and a new rhythm will begin.  Hot cocoa will be replaced with iced tea.  Blankets will become cozy decor, and the opened doors and windows will bring in much needed fresh air.   Things will grow green, and the longer days of light will bring spurts of extra energy.

...but happy dancing that this weekend, the last of winter, we have snow in the forecast.  A beautiful way to end the season and welcome the next.

Goodbye dear Winter, this will be a season we someday remember   as a season of harmony.
