Seasonal Home Journal - the earth's frosting

-living seasonally

Rain, Snow, Rain, Snow - the beautiful pattern that gives sweet nourishment to the earth that has been thirsting deeply.  Our property dusted in white frosting is one of my favorite views.

-thinking deeply

I want health restored in our family.  I have thought of so many ways to get rid of the germs circling around and haunting our household, but it appears that time will have to heal.  Slow process of rest, the forced slow.

-turning pages

During our days of illness, not many pages turned.  I did manage to turn the pages of a few homeschool catalogs and start the decision process for next year.  It's hard when I'm feeling a bit defeated right now.

-establishing rhythm

Light the candle and begin again this week.  Take deep breaths and look at one box at a time and finish what we can and watch the rain drops splash against the windows.

-cultivating simplicity

I am craving simple, but I have to admit that after last month's constant health battles, I feel like everything around me is complicated.  I'm not sure where to begin again.

-creating beauty

My youngest two girls gave me a gift of beautiful.  We had a funeral to attend on Saturday.  I wasn't even sure if I would be able to attend, but I felt better and really wanted to go.  The younger girls are still coughing and so with Daughter E turning 14 and older sisters living around the corner, we had them stay home.  Upon returning home, they had clean and organized and had the house looking so pretty.   They met a need and I didn't ask them to do it.   Melt my heart and such joy!

As I gather little vintage finds for a few dollars, I am finding a new home for them and creating a bit of love and beauty.  These tiny little cast iron irons are perfect for a bookshelf.
